it's nice to wake up with something beautiful to look at...
"scent is directly related to memory... it is something of a sensory path, evoking snapshots of one's past as you smell it. it has the power to transport you from the room in which you stand, to a place buried within the depths of your memory. i wanted to demonstrate that scent can take you on a journey.
in making this film i wanted to avoid any element of exclusivity. i believe that ideas are free. that in order to engage with an idea, you should share it. the prospect of strangers stumbling across my film online and perhaps passing it on, is gratifying. i'm not a commercial person. it is the creative process that fascinates me.
this s not an advertisement for the perfume, it is a film inspired by the essence of scent."

Daphne Guiness (Co-Director) has been at various times a designer, a stylist, a writer, a film-maker, a collector and, now, a perfumer, all the while led by her unique eye and singular creative vision. As muse and mentor, she has nurtured other artist visions including the short film, Cashback, directed by Sean Ellis, for which she served as Executive Producer. Daphne put on a Director's cap for her first short film entitled The Phenomenology of Body which premiered on The New York Times website. Her second foray into Directing, Mnemosyne, was inspired by a fragrance she created for Comme des Garçons. Daphne is an aesthete in the grandest sense of the word... adventurous in her appreciation of art, fashion, music and literature.
